Jim found this at an antique store and picked it up for me.
I was only a Girl Scout for a year, but I was a leader for nine years.
I am the proud mother of a Girl Scout Gold Award recipient.
I wonder if this little Girl Scout went for her Gold?

What a lovely post today!
ReplyDeleteShe looks so proud. Our daughter was in guides and pathfinders (part of the scouting movement in Canada) and our grandson is in beavers. I think the scouting movement does a world of good for kids.
ReplyDeleteI think all these clubs are great for kids ! Love the photo ! Have a good day !
ReplyDeleteI never was a girl scout (blue bird for a short time)...
ReplyDeleteso my daughter made up for what I may have missed out on...
I still have her every badge, uniforms, projects....
I think they mean more to me...that's why she laughs and asks "why are you saving
that stuff?"
I think they have a grown up version of Girl Scouts...they call it "Red Hat"
have a great day.
I really wish I had gone for the gold. My mother was in charge of the girl scouts when we lived in Central NY but moving to the Big City of Buffalo, NY girl scouts was a different experience so I dropped out. Scout leader for at least 6 years in Westbrook, MN but my daughter didn't pursue her scouting career. It is a great and honorable tradition.
ReplyDeletelovely pic.
