You know what's bad? Yellowjackets (or yellow jackets, whatever).
My dad was moving something out back a couple of weeks ago and there was a yellowjacket nest underneath.
This is how we discovered it.
THEY STARTED STINGING MY DAD AND SOSHA AND ME!!!!!!!
AND IT HURT! AND WE WERE SCARED!!
It was not good. My dad had gloves on and even though he was getting stung, he got those stinging things off of Sosha and me first. He's a good dad. My mom and Jamie gave Sosha and me some cheese right away. That might sound strange, but we knew there was medicine in that cheese. My dad got some medicine too. No cheese though. He was kind of bummed about that.
We were all okay though. A little sleepy the rest of the day, but okay.
| This sure would have felt good after an experience like that! |
I am glad you are all OK!
ReplyDeleteI ran full face into a nest of those suckers when I was in 3rd grade, and will never forget it. Besides the pain, my face swelled so badly that I could not see nor eat - had to use a straw for a couple of days.
ReplyDeleteI'm really curious about the cheese! Please explain more about this.
Cheese wrapped around Benadryl tablets. :)
DeleteOh, Duh!
DeleteOh duke, that sounds terrible. I'm so glad your dad was there to look after you.
ReplyDeletePoor Duke.... :(
ReplyDeleteSounds like no fun at all..I hope the beradryl helped. The Bees are just the worst this time of year..they know winter is coming:)
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, how scary! One sting isn't a big deal, but many can be serious. Glad everyone is fine and you had those cheese cookies all ready! Cheese makes everything better!!! :-)
ReplyDeleteWow, what an awful adventure! The yellow jackets have been so much worse this year, and we've noticed that they've taken to building nests underground, especially on our church property which is 7 acres. Several friends of ours have gotten stung this year. You guys be careful outside in the future!
