“The real things haven't changed. It is still best to be honest and truthful; to make the most of what we have; to be happy with simple pleasures; and have courage when things go wrong.”

Simple Sunday
Just got this yesterday at an antique store in Croswell (MI). I love her dress.
Beautiful picture. Don't you wonder if women were really as sad as they look in those photos? But when I think about how difficult their lives were (compared to ours with all our modern conveniences), I guess they were probably exhausted!
I love pictures like this. My dad's mom left a ton behind after she died. Her mother raised her and 10 other girls by herself on a dairy farm after my great-great grandfather died.

ReplyDeleteClothing certainly looked complicated in those days...layers and layers...
ReplyDeleteVery interesting picture. Do you collect them?
ReplyDeleteThe posture is very puzzling!
ReplyDeleteWhat an elaborate set. She looks very tiny to me like she just just finished the "Drink Me" bottle.
ReplyDeleteVery dainty waist too :)
ReplyDeleteLovely dress, I bet it had a bustle..and she looks all of 14 or 15..very beautiful photo:)
